Overlap

What is shared or common between two or more things.

• In geometry, overlap occurs when two or more shapes share a common space. Example: when two circles intersect, the area where they cross each other is the overlap.

• In sets, overlap refers to the shared elements between two or more sets. Example: when Set A = {1, 2, 3} and Set B = {3, 4, 5}, the overlap (or intersection) is the number 3.

Overlap helps us understand how objects, shapes, or sets share space or elements.
