Antiderivative

Antiderivative

The opposite of the derivative. Also known as the indefinite integral.

It is a function that, when differentiated, yields the original function.

For example, the antiderivative of 2x is x2+C, because the derivative of x2+C is 2x.

Note: the word "integral" has a broader meaning, including the calculation of areas and other quantities.
